Class 1 Cabinets
Class I Cabinet Jupiter MSC 1
Class 1 cabinet MSC 1 is a higher class of cabinets than
fume hoods and has taken over the use of fume hoods when handling powders, chemicals, antibiotics among others and still allowing use of organic solvent.
It is more well defined than fume hoods: According to Section 3.4 EN 12469:2000: Class 1 Safety cabinet has a front aperture through which the operator can carry out manipulations inside the cabinet, and which is constructed so that the worker is protected.
The escape of airborne particulate contamination generated within the cabinet is controlled by means of an inward airflow through the work opening front aperture and filtration of the exhaust air.
MSC is available in 2 sizes 1200 and 1800 mm
Class 2 Cabinets
Class II Cabinets - Mars & Sirius
Mars and Sirius are Class II Biological Safety Cabinets fully
certified, tested and TÜV approved to EN 12469:2000, giving operator, product and environmental protection. Available in 5 sizes::
- Low noise level, <53 dB(A) for user comfort
- Uni-directional and vibration free down flow 0.30 m/s ± 10%
- Compact allows work position of 95 cm in 240 cm rooms and through 80 cm doors
Class II cabinets - Mars
Compact
Being only 799 mm deep, the cabinet can easily be transported through 800 mm doorways. The cabinet is available in 4 sizes 900, 1200, 1500 and 1800 working widths.
Eye Level control panel
All cabinet functions can be viewed from either a seated or standing position without upsetting working procedures. The control panel includes functions for reduced speed, resetable hour counter, light and UV-timer, exhaust, down flow and window alarms. Service access is protected via a key pad code. The digital blower system and alarm settings are precisely controlled through the microprocessor giving excellent airflow performance.
Microprocessor control
A digital fan allows precise direct setting of fan speed and gives up to 75% more power compared to similar analogue units. The noise levels are much lower – the energy consumption correspondingly lower. Air flow meters are used for the direct control of the down flow air and the exhaust air. Also a pressostat measurement can be added.
High work opening.
The normal work opening is a comfortable 20 or optional 30 cm giving the best operator barrier. Often weighing applications require higher working heights to get access to containers etc, therefore the cabinet is made with an option to have a work opening of 30 cm

Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets - Fortuna and Titan
Fortuna and Titan are vertical laminar flow sterile air cabinets designed to give the best product protection with true uniform flow clean air. Available in 5 sizes they have the following main features:

- With UV-light an excellent PCR cabinet
Fortuna Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet

Titan Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet
Titan is a true vertical laminar flow cabinet providing sterility and portability, easy to place on existing worktables or benches and can be easily removed and stored when not in use.
True laminar airflow with sterile air better than class 100 eliminates the risk of contaminationof the samples and avoids cross-contamination whilst working, The high work opening front, the low noise level and excellent lighting with clear side windows in polycarbonate makes the Titan a pleasant work station for the operators.
The low energy consumption and the digital control system combines convenience with savings on energy and expensive HEPA-filters. Excellent for microbiological work, cleansing the environment of allergens and particles down to 1 microns for use in the electronics and contact lens manipulation and many other applications where a clean air environment is essential. Optional ULPAfilters can be fitted as required by the electronics industry and for nanotechnology applications.
The optional electrically operated elevation stand makes the Titan an excellent work bench with excellent ergonomics for correct operator posture for either a sitting or standing position whilst working.

PCR Cabinets
ScanLaf offers a complete range of PCR cabinets in a size, and with the safety features, to suit your requirements.
When working with PCR samples, cross contamination between samples and airborne contamination from the surroundings can cause major problems. To overcome this, the Scanlaf PCR cabinet range offers both a highly effective UV irradiation system for the deactivation of RNA and DNA strands and also a U-14 HEPA filtered uniform, downward, airflow to guarantee turbulence free, sterile air at the work surface. This excellent air flow pattern with deviations in speed less than 10 % avoids cross contamination and ensures than any RNA/DNA fragments will be trapped on the table top or follow the laminar flow out of the cabinet (or to the HEPA filters in the Mars model).
